Here is an update on the construction of our extension in Hampton. This project is transforming the two bedroom unit and its functionality. Over the past two months, our team of builders from Segal Build has been working on the second storey extensions, converting a two-bedroom flat into a modern family home with a completely new layout.
From the beginning, the goal was clear. The lower level needed to become a bright open plan kitchen and living room area that feels connected, spacious and practical for everyday life. Upstairs, the new design includes three bedrooms that will create a much more comfortable environment.
A large part of the extension process involved major structural work. Several load bearing wall kitchen sections were carefully removed and repositioned to create the new open space downstairs. At the same time, new structural framing was installed to support the Second Storey addition. Looking at the construction progress now, most of the important structural changes have already been completed and the upper level framework is standing in place.
On the roof, we used old tiles in combination with new ones. This approach helps to reduce the budget for building materials and minimize waste.
Every professional extension project adds long term value when the planning and construction process are completed correctly. This home is already starting to show how smart design, practical layout improvements and quality building work can completely reshape an older property into a modern family home with better functionality and stronger market appeal.
